Marquee Posting Policy


Churchill County Parks and Recreation Department
Electronic LED Marquee Posting Policy
 
The LED electronic marquee located adjacent to Sheckler Road within Churchill County Fairgrounds is maintained and operated by the Churchill County Parks and Recreation Department (CCPR).
 
The Parks and Recreation Department will prepare, schedule and post all messages on this marquee.
 
The following types of organizations may place messages on the marquee:
Churchill County government agencies;
The City of Fallon;
Schools located in the county;
 
The following types of organizations may apply to place informational messages on the marquee:
(Information is limited to event name, place, date and time)
 
Current renters of Churchill County Parks and Recreation facilities;
Civic and civic improvement organizations located within Churchill County;
Community service organizations located in the county;
Non-profit organizations that submit copy of IRS form 501(c) located in the county;
Organizations located in the county that are sponsoring youth activities, public health activities and matters related to safety; and
Other similar organizations approved by the Director of Parks and Recreation.
 
Procedure
With the exception of law enforcement (Emergency messages), the following procedure should be used when submitting information for inclusion on the electronic marquee:
 
  1. Information about an activity or event must be submitted electronically or in person at the Parks and Recreation Office. The Parks and Recreation office will date-stamp the material upon receipt.
Each request for marquee publicity must:
  • Be received by Parks and Recreation at least two weeks prior to the desired publicity period on the marquee.
  • Include the following essential data for Event Scheduling usage:
    • Date
    • Time
    • Place
  • A list of activities that will take place
  • A person and telephone number to contact for further information,
  • And any information that may encourage the public to attend an event if the marquee message is intended to attract an audience.
 
  1. Upon receipt of the marquee publicity request, the Parks and Recreation office will be responsible for confirming the data submitted and rewriting the information in a readable billboard-type format.
The Parks and Recreation Department will make every attempt to publicize major events for at least a week prior to the activity, provided that all of the necessary information has been received in a timely fashion and remains accurate.
 
  1. The activity sponsor will be responsible for contacting the Parks and Recreation Department immediately of any information resulting in changes i.e. date, time, cancellation, so that the marquee will always reflect accurate and up-to-date information.
 
  1. Fees: A minimum-processing fee of $25 is charged for all rental users. Postings are not guaranteed and are subject upon space availability.
  • Organizations exempt from payment include: Churchill County government agencies, school district activities, City of Fallon sponsored events and organizations that are currently renting CCPR facilities and fields.
 
  1. Questions and/or concerns about marquee publicity should be channeled to the Parks and Recreation Director.
